Overview
Printing applications produce written texts on paper and are used widely by a number of different industries, businesses and organizations across the globe. Health Hazards of Printing
While printers are an indispensable tool many of us rely on each day, they also have a negative impact on indoor air quality (IAQ). Printing produces a number of harmful chemicals such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that pollute indoor air and can adversely affect our health. VOCs contain toxic compounds including gasses and ultrafine particles (UFPs) such as soot, dust and sulfur dioxide. The quantity of these toxins can be significant as a typical printer emits somewhere between 10 to 70 times the UFPs found in ambient air.
